Finding Mike was like buying a winning lottery ticket with your
last dollar. There I was a couple
years ago 4 deep in great bass players and no one was available
to do the gig. Somebody recommended that I give him a call and
he’s been with us ever since. Mike has this unassuming, quiet
personality and even stage presents, but to hear what comes out
of that bass guitar and how he locks up with the drummer and nails
any groove is unnerving. He’ll learn a 3 minute song in 30 seconds.
Mike is a member of A & M recording artists “Innocence Mission”
band. And fortunately for us, though they are still writing and recording
they are raising families instead of touring around the country with
The Lilith Fair, EmmyLou Harris, Don Henley, and recording with
Natalie Merchant. Mike is also a good piano player and arranger. He scored
out the string section on “Betrayed”. And recorded bass with
us on several tracks, of “Ain’t That Somethin’” Check out Innocence
